France is a country that has a wonderful variety of fishing from the North through to the South and caters for fly fishing, course and game fishing on a wide range of rivers and lakes. Plus there is plenty of coast line for the sea angler to enjoy as well.

Carp fishing, cat fishing, not forgetting course and pike fishing are just some of the holidays that you can enjoy in France and whilst some places cater for the dedicated angler, others are more family orientated with accommodation and activities for the non fishers.

There are several types of fishing holiday available and for trout fishing, you would need to book from around the middle to end of March up until around the first week of September, which is the only time frame you are allowed to fish for trout in France.

In certain areas of France, salmon fishing is prohibited all year, so it is always best to check on the area you are going, prior to thinking that you will be able to get a licence for fly fishing, just like that.

Every country has numerous different regulations and France is no exception, with specific rules in place for what type of fish you can catch, when you are allowed to catch certain species of fish and what equipment you are allowed to fish with.

For some, this can be a daunting prospect, especially if you are not fluent in French, and although in some areas it will be easier than others to organise your fishing venue and licence, it is often easier to pre-organise your fishing holiday, so do try and get as much information as possible.

You must have a fishing licence to fish in rivers, streams and lakes throughout France unless these are privately owned or booked as a fishing holiday where the fishing licence requirements are normally included, but it is advisable to check this out before you travel!

If you need to obtain your own fishing permit, these can usually be obtained from the local fishing tackle shop or alternatively from the local bar or tobac. But if you are not sure on what is required then you can get advice from the local tourist information board, which can also provide maps of where you can and cannot fish.

If you are only going to be on holiday in France for a short time, then you can get what is known as The Carte de Peche de Vacances, which covers an angler for up to fifteen consecutive days and can be used between 1st June and 30th November. However, outside of these dates an annual fishing licence is mandatory.

An annual permit may be used for the whole year but bear in mind that this will only be for one department unless you get it stamped for different areas that you may go to and this is something that you will need for all fresh water fishing.

When it comes to catfish and carp fishing, you can get a licence to do this in the local rivers or public lakes, but the majority of people will want to opt for a carp fishing holiday on a dedicated lake. And when you go to a dedicated privately owned lake for carp fishing, cat fishing, etc, then you will not normally have to worry about getting your own individual licence as this will already have either been sorted out by the travel agency or the owner under their regulations.

Boats are allowed to be used quite a bit in France, but you may need to have a separate part to your licence to enable you to use a boat, even if it is only for baiting. But be careful if you have an echo sounder in your boat, as you are not allowed to have both this and your tackle in the boat at the same time!

Also, night fishing is prohibited in a lot of places in France, but when on a private fishing lake, or if with the correct licence on certain waters, this can be allowed. If not, then you can only fish half hour after sunrise to half hour before sunset. Some places on the rivers seine, rhone, mosselle, oise, madine and rhine, etc do allow night fishing, but there are many places that do ban the use of a bivvy or tent even if night fishing is allowed and you may only get away with a brolly!

Sea fishing off of the Atlantic coast is excellent and you will be pleased to know that a licence is not needed, and you can go out on a boat to catch bass, conger eels and even tuna or surf cast for sea bream to name but a few.

Fly fishing for salmon and trout is available in lots of public canals and navigable rivers but as with most countries, these will also contain other fish such as Pike, so beware! However some of the best places to try your hand at fly fishing are often owned by groups and in this case you would need to pay the owners for a permit to fish as well as having your licence.

Some of the best salmon fishing in France can be found in the Pyrenees Atlantiques and the river Loire is also a major salmon fishery for France.

Some of the best fishing in France is for course fishing where you will find lots of different species, but with carp, catfish and pike being in abundance, especially in areas such as the Dordogne, Lot and Charente Maritime. But if you like fishing for black bass, the river Rhone is known as a premier bass fishery, as is the river Saone.

The fishing dates and times do vary each year in France, so it is always advisable to check on these before planning your fishing holiday, and at the end of the day, forget about the headaches of the licences, just enjoy the whole experience and you too could be in with a chance of catching a fish that has never been caught before!

As any angler would tell you fishing is not only fun, but also a peaceful sport that enables you to spend a few quiet moments with friends, family, and nature. The sport of fresh water fishing includes catching fish in rivers, lakes, and streams.

Even children can take part in a fishing trip. However, you need plenty of patience for fishing. It is quite challenging and requires a lot of skill on your part, which you can aquire only with the passage of time.

1. Get a License

To begin with, you have to study the fishing laws and rules of your state and find out if you require a license for fishing. If you need a license, ask at a good sporting goods store for information on how you can acquire one. The people at the sporting goods store will help you get a license. Some will even get it done for you.

2. Purchase Fishing Equipment

In the meantime, you can take a look around the store and purchase some quality fishing equipment for your fishing trip. Since you are only a beginner, purchase only the basic equipment required for a fishing trip. When you have doubts about the equipment you require, don't hesitate to clear them with the store owner.

Remember that you have to stay within the limits of your budget. Don't purchase each and every thing that the store offers you. Although artificial bait is available at the stores, you could try using the worms in your backyard as live bait if you wish to save some money.

For your first fishing trip, you need to purchase only an inexpensive fishing rod, a reel, a line, a hook, a weight, a bobber, some bait, and a net. Purchase a pair of polarized sunglasses too because they will enable you to see through the water clearly without having to suffer an eyestrain due to the rays of the sun.

When you are more experienced, you can purchase quality equipment. Till you gain experience, enjoy fishing with ordinary, basic equipment.

3. Find a Good Fishing Spot

You need to find out about local fishing spots. If you don't know any, ask for information regarding local fishing 'hot spots." You can also check the fishing regulations of your state for information about the best locations for fishing in and around your state.

4. Practise Well

Practise will make you a better angler. When you have sufficiently developed your skill, you can go into deeper waters. Before you venture into deeper waters, ensure that you have practised casting your line well.

The best place to practise is your backyard. Use a rope to mark a practise area in your backyard and pratice casting your line there. Study a number of fishing techniques to find one that suits you best. Use your wrist when you cast, not your arm.

You have to handle fishing hooks with care because they are very sharp. Before you begin your practise in your backyard, make sure that nobody is around. The hook could hurt someone.

When you have had enough pratise in your backyard and you want to try it for real, proceed to a popular fishing spot.

5. Some Fishing Tips

Keep these tips in mind during your first fishing trip.

As far as possible, don't fish alone. Always fish with a friend or a group of friends so that, in case of emergency, there will always be someone to help.

It is not a great idea to fish in shallow waters. Cast your net in shady, deep, and rocky places where the fish are more likely to be.

Remember to cast the line just in front of the fish. Let your bait down slowly without making any splash. The fish can see the things that are close to them, but they cannot see behind them.

If you are casting your line in a haphazard manner, you need to go closer to the water to be able to cast more accurately.

Watch your bobber carefully for any movement. Whenever a fish swallows the bait, the bobber disappears under water. This means that you have caught a fish. Don't let this excite you too much. It is important to be calm, especially at this moment.

Keep the line tight while your reel up your catch. Use your net to get the fish out of the water. Take care while you separate the hook from the fish.

If you have caught a particular size of fish, as specified in your state's fishing regulations book, release it immediately. In the same way, if you don't intend to eat your catch, you had better release it into the water. This will ensure that the lakes, streams, and rivers will be full of fish always so that many more generations of anglers can enjoy this sport.

Before you call it a day, enjoy the calmness and serenity of the river.

Looking for the target fish first is needed before attempting to catch fishes. Keep in mind that fishes stays at the water where there is enough cover, oxygen and food. Be certain to stay at a close distance to this area and you can certainly catch fish there, only you have to pay patience in finding them.

Fishes living there ranges in wide variety. That is why, they do not live in same areas in the water. Different fishes adapt to different conditions of environment. Different fishes can tolerate different salt levels, oxygen amount, food amounts and types, temperature of the water and areas for hiding. Salt is the element that distinguishes most of the fish. Fish used the element of salt to survive. However, there are fishes that cannot survive in areas with lots of salt but there are also fish species that can live in both fresh water and salt water.

Compared to ocean, rivers, reservoirs and freshwater ponds have lesser salt. Majority of the water in North America are bodies of freshwater. In this kind of water, fishes are mostly carp, crappie, bass, catfish and bluegrip. However, many fish species live in the salty water portion of the ocean. This can be attributed to their kidneys. Because of the kidneys of the fish, they are provided with the ability to retain an appropriate balance of salt in their body. Flounder, sea trout, cod and bluefish are some of the more common fishes that can be found in saltwater.

Oxygen is another factor for looking at a perfect spot for fishing. The level of oxygen is important for the fishes to survive. There are some fish that can survive in less oxygen. This is exemplified by the carp species, unlike the trout, which needs sufficient level of oxygen. The presence of living plants in the stream or lake has a significant effect on the oxygen level in the water. These plants increase the oxygen of the water by the process of photosynthesis. This is a process that makes food by the use of sunlight. Oxygen also goes to the water from the air above the water surface.

Specific fish species are found in water depending on food types available in the area. Different areas provide various food types and amount. Since all the fish must eat, there is a big competition among the fishes. And this issue is another important factor that distinguish which species of fish are present in certain area in the water.

Water temperature is another factor. Different fishes tolerate different temperature of water. There are fishes, which are flexible. They are able to live in different ranges in temperature. On the other hand, there are also fishes that need either warm or cold water to live. This can be exemplified with the trout. Trout can only live in cold water. To easily find the certain type of fish, one tip is to know and learn the different water temperature preferences of different fish species. Through this, one will not get difficulty locating the preferred fish types.

As human, we have the ability to control one of the factors when talking about where the fishes live. This is the water quality which is the most common determinants of the specific place to find the fishes. We have the ability to retain high water quality level. Just keep in mind that sufficient oxygen level is very important to let the fish survive. Clean and pollution-free water is another very important factor, but this is actually not enough. There are still some fish species that do not just need clean water. Carp for one can live in not-so-very-clean water. Therefore cleanliness is not enough, high quality of water is the most important factor for the fishes to survive.

Knowing the specific places where to find the target fishes is important for successful fishing. There are several factors that affect the place where fishes most often stay. These are salt level, oxygen level and water temperature. Fishes are all different and have different needs too. That is why, knowing about these different factors to find the area in the water where they live is important for anglers like you.

We've all been in your predicament. You're looking for that well deserved promotion at work and you know one piece of information about the boss that nobody else knows (or they don't want to admit), he/she loves to fish. He/She's been bugging everybody in the office to spend some time on his luxury boat doing some freshwater fishing but the boss doesn't get a nibble. Well it's your turn at bat, get ready to strike a home run.

Ok, so let's start with the basics. You are going to need to spend a little of that hard earned money at your local Walmart or Bait and Tackle Shop to bring your fishing tools into the new millennium. If you want to impress the boss, you don't want to show up with your Snoopy Zebco Rod/Reel combo that you used twenty years ago to reel in those monster minnows. You need to sell yourself as an angler and not just a fishing person.

Just like Picasso needed an easel and nice set of paintbrushes, you need to get yourself a quality rod and reel. Most Bait Shops and Sporting Good stores sell those combo kits which will likely work for your situation. The great aspect of these kits is that the rod and reel are tailored for one another. Fishing rods (remove the words fishing pole from your vocabulary) come in just about every conceivable format. You'll want to do some preliminary homework in determining where your boss plans to take you and what you will be fishing for. Try to work it in between your meetings about TPS reports and such. What you are interested in is what species of fish you are likely targeting. If you don't want to seem to obvious, just find out what body of water you plan to fish and then open up old google and do a search for it with the keywords "fish report" added on. You will get a wealth of information from forums or local fishing reports regarding the body of water in question and the types of fish you are likely to catch. Once you figure out the species you'll base your rod/reel purchasing off of that.

If you are targeting most species of fish (largemouth, smallmouth, panfish, walleye, catfish), you can probably get away with a five to six foot rod. Anything smaller could easily snap if you happen to tag a huge catfish or even a good size largemouth bass. Anything bigger and you'll be whipping the lips off of those poor innocent panfish. Pay special attention to the limber quality of the rod. While Ultralight rods will give you a better feel for the bite, they will make reeling in that lunker that much harder and increase your chance of having to tell stories about the one that got away. Your best bet is to stay neutral and get a Medium weight pole. It will be sturdy enough for most breeds of freshwater fish.

Fishin Reels now come in mind numbing assortment of types and sizes. You might remember your old faithful Zebco reel where you never saw the fishing line, it just disappeared into the endless depths of snoopy's mouth. These types of reels are known as closed faced reels. If you want to impress the man, forget this type. While it is the easiest reel to use, it is kids play. You need to look seasoned for your adventure. You might next notice the really pricey reels known as bait casters. Yeah, you've put in your time watching ESPN Bass Masters tournaments and noticed the pro's using these types of reels like it was an extension of their arm. They just whip their bait out and yank in the lunkers. For your adventure, skip the bait casting reels. If any piece of fishing equipment can make a six foot, two hundred and fifty pound grown man weep in agony, this is the one. It takes years to get the right feel for this device and you will have better luck at figuring out a rubic's cube (ahem, no pulling the stickers off) then trying to get a successful cast out of this reel. So my recommendation for your expedition would be the old faithful Open Faced Spinning Reel. Yes, you'll need to do some practice casting before you venture out for your trip just to get the hang of this one. The sporting goods shop that you visit for your supplies should also sell little plastic plugs called practice or casting plugs. Get you a couple of these and practice in the backyard. Put a bucket out about twenty feet and see if you can hammer your plug home.

To make things even more complicated, you'll notice some numbers on the spool (the part of the reel that your fishing line is wound around). Numbers such as 6lb/150yd, 8lb/100yd, 10lb/75yd. No, these are shot put records, these are the line capacities. Fishing line comes in various "strengths" which are measured in the good old English system, pounds. Basically, this is the maximum amount of fish poundage you could catch with the fishing line you have installed. So if you are going for catfish, which can easily get up into the twenty pound size, you'll want a fishing line that is rated in that neighborhood. So your probably thinking, well why not just go big( i do it with McDonalds value meals, it should work here. right). Well, you'll notice that the bigger the poundage the less line (measured in yds) you'll be able to put on your reel. This means when you see the fish jumping out in the water 150 yds and you cast out with only 100 yds on your reel, you'll fall short. Any you definitely don't want to fall short in front of your new best friend. So it's imperative that you match up your fishing line to the type of fish you are going for.

I've got two wonderful tips to give you when it comes to fishing line. Number one, pay that extra ten bucks and get an extra spool. Have the sporting goods shop string it up for you with a different pound fishing line just in case the fish get big. This is an invaluable back up plan in case you get the dreaded bird's nest of death, one quick removal of the old spool and your back in action. Deal with the dreaded fishing string birds nest another day. Tip Number Two, remove your fishing spool from your fishing reel and drop it in a glass of warm water overnight. No, you won't grow a fishing fairy that you can take along but what this does is help mold the line to your spool. This helps in preventing those birds nest after your bazillenth cast. Its one of the smartest things you can do with new fishing line.

So lets take tally of what you've got in your shopping cart..rod,reel and fishing line. Hmm, we seem to be missing something. Yep, we need some form of bait. Well this is where your research into where you'll be heading comes in. Generally the information you find regarding what types of fish you will be catching will also point you into the direction of what these fish bite on. If you strike out online, ask the youngest looking employee in the fishing section of the sporting good store what the fish hit on at that particular lake. Why the youngest, because they have the most free time on their hands so they probably have the experience (I worked at a Bait and Tackle store for three years when I was in my teens. I worked there not because I needed the money, but because I got the scoop on the best fishing spots and also got a killer discount on bait and tackle). Go with their recommendations and stock up. If you can afford it, get at least two of each of what they recommend. The best fishing spots are also the best spots to loose fishing gear( think sunken tree's). The worst feeling you can have is to be nailing the fish and loose the only thing they are hitting on.

So there you go. Armed with this basic information, you should be able to set yourself up for fishing success. One more thing to keep in mind, don't catch more than your boss or you could find yourself out fishing for a new job.
If your looking for a great source of information regarding fishing Utah, including fishing reports, in-depth analysis of local lakes and other valuable data visit my blog at:
http://www.fishingutah.net

If you had the chance to explore all saltwater and freshwater fish, it would take you thousands of years. Therefore, if you are just starting in fish care and aquariums you want to learn minimal details on starter fish. Everyone has their own notion as to which fish are best for starters, therefore my goal is to inform you, rather than instruct on starter fish. Still, I will provide you helpful information that you can use to sort through aggressive and passive fish. The passive, peaceful, and easy to maintain fish are in my opinion the best fish for starters. Now we start with the Symphysodon aequifasciata and s. discus fish, which is known as the Discus Fish. The name alone would make the common starter take a run for a name they could pronounce, yet the fish name is a scare, which denounces the fish’s identity. This fancy fish is brilliantly colored in aqua green with a brownish tint that offsets his eyes, small mouth, and black marked body. The Discus is one of the tropical fish that lives in freshwater. Discuss prefers water temperatures set at 82 degrees and no higher than 88 degrees Fahrenheit. The pH level should set at 6.0 and not beyond 6.5. Density: 3 to 5 degrees:

The Discus is slow feeders that tend to reside by themselves. The fish will live in communal tank water, yet they will find their own corners to hang. Some of the recommended fish to share space with the Discus is the smaller and peaceful Corydoras catfish, cardinal tetras, and the Rasbora. Few of the Discus fish are decorated in bright cyan red and turquoise, which makes the fish appealing to tank water. Before you purchase discus breeds, take care to review the health of these fish. It is next to impossible to save an ill discus’s life.

Discus has a shy nature. The peaceful fish enjoys slowness, and is finicky when dining. The foodstuff desired includes, live bait, frozen foods, beef heart shredded, Tubifex, etc. You want to avoid Tubifex although the fish enjoy the meal well, since these fish are prone to disease. You can feed the pet Tubifex, yet it is advised that you wash the foodstuff carefully.

If you want to feed a fancier fish, then checkout the Bettas, Gouramies and the Fighting Siamese Fish. The fish spread out in the waters of Asia and live well in aquariums. The fancy fish including the Siamese Fighting Fish, Fighting Cocks, and the Strains are popular fish that has been spotted on live sporting events. The fish are commonly exploited in Thailand’s’ land. The fish enjoy battling. Most of the fish available have a variety of colors to select from, including the beautiful shimmering red fish, blue fish, bicolor fish, and so on. Albinos are available as well.

In all fish are summed up as saltwater (Marine) fish or freshwater (Non-Marine) fish. The Freshwater fish include tropical fish and the coldwater fish. The tropical is more desirable for starters in fish care and aquarium keep. At pet stores, online, etc, you will find a wide array of tropical, saltwater, and coldwater fish.

Keep in mind that Marine fish are more prone to saltwater, since the fish come from salty marine waters, such as the seas, oceans, etc. Freshwater fish tend to come from rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, and so on. Having an idea of what type of water the fish dwells in can give you a running start to figuring out what type of water is best suited for your fish. Still, most pet stores provide instructions, which you should read carefully in your fish care expedition. Don’t forget the filtration systems.

The sport of fly fishing has been around for years and years. In medieval times, anglers fished for food, but the sport has evolved over the years to become a real test of skills. Anyone who has become involved in the sport of fly fishing knows how addictive in can be - but in a very good way!

Fly fishing is markedly different from regular fishing. With plain fishing, you use lures and often live bait to bring fish to your line and hook them. When you are fly fishing, you use a fly that resembles a real insect that the fish feed on naturally. The line is longer and you mimic the movement of the fly or insect on top of the water so that the fish thinks they are biting at a real insect.

Casting is constant in fly fishing. You put the fly out in the water and then draw it back several times so that the fish thinks the fly is landing on the water and then taking off again. With regular fishing, you cast your line and let it rest until the fish bites making the bobber sink into the water.

You can catch some pretty hefty fish using either method, but when you are fly fishing, you have the opportunity to "battle" the fish for survival. This can be extremely satisfying as man battles nature for the top position.

Flies are made out of natural materials in fly fishing while regular fishing utilizes latex and plastic lures made out of man-made materials. Many avid fly fishermen say that the fish are much more attracted to the natural lure rather than the man-made ones. This, they say, makes fly fishing an amazingly satisfying sport.

You can fish just about anywhere - a local pond, a lake, or even a reservoir. When you are fly fishing, you will want to go where the fish are most plentiful. That means traveling (perhaps) to rivers and streams where fish like trout and walleye are known to live. The challenge in fly fishing lies in making the fly look real to the fish below water.

Fly fishing in remote places like Alaska and Canada are great vacation getaways. You can plan a fly fishing trip to many different spots including Mexico, South America, and even Russia. That can be a great adventure - much more so than just fishing your local lake or pond.

Chess has been called "the sport of kings", but many avid fly fishermen consider fly fishing to be the real sport of kings. It takes skill, finesse, and a lot of patience to get good at fly fishing. Thousands of anglers couldn't agree more. When you've been fly fishing once, you'll want to go back over and over and over again. May the fish bite well for you!

Are you in the market for a new fish tank? If this is your first time purchasing a fish tank, you may be unsure as to which type of fish tank you should purchase. When it comes to fish tanks, the two most common choices are glass fish tanks and acrylic fish tanks.

When it comes to choosing between glass fish tanks and acrylic fish tanks, there are many first time fish tank buyers who choose to go with glass fish tanks. One of the reasons for that is familiarity. Many of us are more familiar with glass fish tanks than we are with acrylic fish tanks. What you might not know is that you may be making a costly mistake, when purchasing a glass fish tank instead of an acrylic fish tank. If you are unfamiliar with acrylic fish tanks, you will want to take the time to familiarize yourself with them. To get you started, below a few fascinating acrylic fish tank facts are outlined.

FACT: Acrylic fish tanks are strong and durable.

When it comes to acrylic fish tanks, especially when compared to glass fish tanks, acrylic fish tanks win, hands down, when it comes to durability. The acrylic materials used to make acrylic fish tanks are highly durable; thus, making them strong and dependable. That strength is why a large number of fish tank manufacturers and fish tank suppliers offer warranties on all acrylic fish tanks. In fact, a large number of those warranties are lifetime warranties.

FACT: Acrylic fish tanks are lightweight.

While you might assume that acrylic fish tanks are heavy, due to their strength and durability, they are not. Acrylic fish tanks, especially when compared to glass fish tanks, are considered lightweight fish tanks. When examining the weight of acrylic fish tanks, it is important that you keep size in mind. Obviously, a desktop acrylic fish tank is going to weigh less than an in-wall acrylic fish tank, and so forth. However, no matter what the size, acrylic fish tanks are much lighter than their competition.

FACT: Acrylic fish tanks are easier to repair.

When it comes to repairing acrylic fish tanks, you will find that the repairs that need to be made are minimal or even nonexistent. Many times, the only so-called repairs that need to be made are repairing a few starches. There are a number of products, which can be purchased for affordable prices from most fish tank supply stores, which can easily repair all acrylic fish tank scratches. These scratch repairs can be done by you, right in your own home.

FACT: The acrylic used to make acrylic fish tanks can easily be distorted.

When it comes to examining the materials used to make acrylic fish tanks, you might not think that the ability to distort or manipulate the materials has an impact on you buying an acrylic aquarium, but it actually does. Since acrylic materials can easily be manipulated or distorted, there are an unlimited number of different acrylic fish tanks to choose from; each of these fish tanks come in different sizes, shapes, and styles. When keeping this important fact in mind, it is important that you concentrate on the materials used. When an acrylic fish tank has been completed, the chances of distortion or damage are virtually nonexistent.

The above mentioned acrylic fish tank facts are just a few of the many that exist. In fact, there are many other acrylic fish tank features that you may find fascinating. Other noteworthy features include the cleanliness, at least on the outside. Acrylic fish tanks are clearer than all other fish tanks, including glass fish tanks. This is ideal for you, especially if your sole purpose of purchasing an acrylic fish tank is to improve the appearance of your home or your business.

If the above mentioned acrylic fish tank facts and features are of an interest to you, you are advised to further examine acrylic fish tanks, such as the acrylic fish tank styles that you have to choose from. To do this, you will want to visit a well-known and highly rated fish tank supplier, like FishTanksDirect.com.

Have you recently purchased yourself a new fish tank? If so, there will come a time when you will need to clean your fish tank. When that time comes, and there is no doubt that it will, do you know how you can go about properly cleaning your fish tank? If not, you are urged to familiarize yourself with common fish tank cleaning supplies, many of which you may find helpful.

When it comes to familiarizing yourself with fish tank cleaning supplies, there are a number of important factors that you will want to take into consideration. Two of those factors are extremely important. First, you will want to make sure that you examine the type of fish tank that you have. Secondly, you will want to make sure that you examine the type of fish that you have; for instance, do you have saltwater fish, tropical fish, or freshwater fish? While there are a number of universal cleaning supplies that can be used, for all different fish tanks, you will want to verify before using any particular cleaning product or piece of equipment, as you do not want to jeopardize your fish tank and its contents.

Although there are some instances where you may need certain fish tank cleaning products or equipment, there are many cleaning supplies that are sometimes considered universal. One of those products is floating magnets. Floating magnets are known as a safe, convenient, and easy way to remove fish tank debris, like algae, from the walls of your fish tank. While floating magnets can be used on a wide variety of different fish tanks, you are urged to keep the type of fish tank that you have in mind. When it comes to buying floating fish tank magnets, you will see that there are magnets which are designed solely for glass fish tanks and others that are designed solely for acrylic fish tanks.

Scrapers are another piece of cleaning equipment that you may need to purchase or want to think about purchasing. Scrapers, like floating magnets, are used to remove algae from the sides of a fish tank. Scrapers can get the hard to reach algae or the algae that didn't make its way to the magnets. For larger fish tanks, you should be able to purchase scrapers with extendable handles. Scrapers, as with fish tank magnets, are designed for both acrylic fish tanks and glass fish tanks. If and when you decide to purchase a fish tank scraper, it is important that you examine the scraper in question. While a large number of scrapers are designed for both glass and acrylic fish tanks, there are some scrapers that are only safe to use with glass aquariums. To protect your acrylic aquarium, you need to carefully examine what you are purchasing.

If the fish tank that you recently purchased was an acrylic fish tank, you may need to purchase an acrylic fish tank scratch repair kit. While you might not necessarily associate repairs with cleaning, you should, particularly when it comes to acrylic fish tanks. A scratch on an acrylic fish tank, even just a small one, may change the way that you feel about your aquarium. That is why it advised that you look into have an acrylic fish tank scratch repair kit to have on hand, just incase. Should you accidentally scratch your acrylic fish tank when cleaning it, having an on hand acrylic fish tank supply scratch kit could fix that scratch and have your aquarium back to looking new in no time at all.

Gravel vacuums are another fish tank cleaning product that you may want to examine closer. Fish tank gravel vacuums are ideal for all fish tanks that have gravel bottoms and since most do, this piece of cleaning equipment may be perfect for you and your new fish tank. With a fish tank gravel vacuum, you can clean your fish tank and the gravel, without having to separate all of the contents. A gravel vacuum can distinguish fish tank gravel from other fish tank debris. Owning a fish tank gravel vacuum is fish tank cleaning at is best; it saves time and it tends to eliminate some of the many hassles associated with cleaning a fish tank. Most fish tank gravel vacuums are safe to use with glass fish tanks and acrylic fish tanks.

The above mentioned fish tank cleaning supplies and equipment pieces are just a few of the many that you may need to purchase for your new fish tank. For a more accurate list of supplies that you may want to look into purchasing, as well as a large selection of fish tank cleaning supplies available for sale, you are urged to examine FishTanksDirect.com.

Sorting out relevant information on any topic is very difficult but this article on fishing tries to put all the relevant information about fishing at one place.

Being interested in fishing means that you must be eager to gain as much information on fishing as possible. To make things easier for you, we have this article for you having all the relevant information on fishing.

When we decided on writing this article on fishing, we knew that we could provide our readers with something which would be different from what was being presented to them. And now when you are reading this article, you would have to decide on our success.

Fishing is a sport, but it has become less about survival and more about fun in recent decades. There is an issue of fish becoming depleted and many anglers are now employing the practice of catch and release fishing. Catch and release fishing is a great theory, but many people are doing it incorrectly and as a result many fish are dying. A few steps should be followed when trying to catch and release a fish. Once you get the hang of how to do it correctly, you will be able to enjoy your hobby and keep the population of fish full in your favorite stream or lake.

Article reading is something which is done to gain knowledge and information about a particular topic and if these means are not achieved then reading the article would be a waste of time. Now, when you are reading this article on fishing, how would you rate the time spent in reading it?

The best place to start is with the hooks. A fish that has a hole through its mouth is going to be more likely to survive than a fish with a hole in its lung or gill. If you happen to hook a fish in the gut, the best thing to do is to cut off the hook as much as you can then release the fish. Many times the hook will dissolve and the fish will spit it out, but they can also live with a rusted hook hanging from them. Whatever you do, do not tug on your line to pull a hook out or you will severely hurt the fish. If you are able to easily remove the hook, use a pair of needle nose pliers. The process of pulling the hook out is easier if you remove the barbs from the hooks, but try not to wiggle while you pull the hook out.

Learning is a continuous process and you can never claim that you everything worth knowing about any topic and we think that you must have realized this when you have started reading this article.

Fish are obviously unable to survive outside of the water. Therefore, the longer that it takes you to release them, the more it becomes as if you are suffocating them. The way that a fish is gripped when out of the water will make a big difference. For instance, avoid touch a fish’s body with your bare hands. The fish have a slimy protective coat that will be stripped if you touch them with your hands. If you have to touch a fish, make sure that your hands are wet. You may want to wear gloves to protect your hands from cuts or permeating fish smells.

It goes without saying that you are interested in fishing and that is what prompted you to read this article. It is now for you decide if your effort has been fruitful or not.

Part of the fun in fishing is to “play out” the fish. The struggle can be what some anglers wait all day to do. Fish are like humans; when they “work out,” they build up lactic acid. When you are fighting a fish, they are fighting too. Just like when someone works his or her body out and it feels sore, a fish experiences the same thing. The build up of lactic acid can be toxic to a fish even days later. Therefore, if you are going to practice catch and release, try to keep the struggle to a minimum.

Hasn’t this article made you aware of the fact that so much information existed on fishing and that you were unaware of even the fact that you were unaware of it?

Try not to let a fish flop around when you catch them. A fish that flops around can bruise or damage its internal organs, causing them to die later from the injuries that are incurred. You can also revive a fish if you need to do so. A fish is likely to run out of oxygen and pass out, so to speak. In order to revive a fish, you place the fish in the water with their belly down and gently grasp their tail. Start to slowly move their tail back and forth until they give you the signal that they are ready to take off into the water. Sometimes you will need to repeat the process more than once, but don’t let a fish go until they are ready. A fish that is not ready to swim could get carried away and swept into rocks or embankment and cause serious injury.

More than anything, when you are practicing catch and release, have everything ready to go. Make sure that your camera, pliers, and gloves are in reaching distance. Try to take the precautions necessary to preserve fish and one of America’s favorite pastimes.

Are you looking for some inside information on fishing? Here's an up-to-date report from fishing experts who should know.

Many of us dream of having an aquarium filled with beautiful fish. Did you recently take the jump and make the purchase? If so, you are likely to have many questions. One of those questions likely focuses on aquarium fish food. Continue reading on for helpful tips that can ensure your fish are well cared for, as well as how to get the best value for your money.

There are many different types of fish food available for sale. Take a walk through your local fish or pet store and you will be surprised with the selection. Wait until you shop online, your options seem endless. Which fish food should you choose? You want to get the best value for your money, but don't automatically think lowest price. You want to have a highly rated and recommended fish food, one that stays fresh longer, and one that provides your fish with added benefits. Depending on the contents of your aquariums, this may include frozen fish food, flake food, pellet food, and freeze-dried fish food.

Frozen and freeze-dried fish foods have the best nutritional value. Flake style fish food is often a mixture of different foods. This makes it difficult to monitor and estimate the value your fish are getting. Generally speaking, frozen fish food is best, but freeze-dried comes in a close second. You will see that frozen fish food has higher costs. This is generally due to the added nutritional benefits, long shelf life, and the resealable freezer safe package. Luckily, you can feed your aquarium fish a mixture, also keeping the costs down.

Flake style fish food is the most common food fed to aquarium fish. Your first thought may be to opt for the cheapest package available. Know however, that flake fish food comes in many different formats too. Look at your options. You can purchase vegetable flakes, those with added protein, and more. Although the nutritional value of flake fish food is not as high as frozen, keep it in mind. The proper nutrients can increase the energy of your fish and highlight their beautiful colors.

Pellet fish food is not as popular among new fish owners, but it is available. This type of fish food is ideal for carnivores. This is due the shape. In the water, it looks more like live food than fish food with flakes. You should find your fish going to the food quicker and eating a healthier diet. Pellet food is available for sale in different sizes. When making your choice, consider the size of your fish.

Know your fish's needs. If you are a new aquarium owner, you may have done little research in terms of fish food. Now is the time to get started. As previously stated, flake fish food is the most common food feed to aquarium fish. It is cheaper and easy to find, but should not be the only food your fish eats. As mentioned above, you can mix it up between flake, freeze-dried, and frozen fish food. For marine fish, flake food is best used as a supplement, not their main source of diet.

Always consider use when buying fish food, especially flakes. Frozen, pellet, and freeze-dried food will stay better longer. You may run into a problem with open flake fish food. Your fish's food will lose the little nutritional value it does have. There is also the risk of bacteria and mold growth. When buying flake fish food, only buy what you can use in a reasonable amount of time. Stocking up and bulk purchases can save you money at first, but not if must discard contaminated food later.

It is easy to overfeed your fish. The best approach is to divide up the feedings. Two small feedings a day is usually better for aquariums fish than one large feeding. If there is noticeable food left over in the acquarium after a few minutes, you have likely overfeed your fish. Other telltale signs include cloudy water and mold growths in the tank. These are both signs of leftover fish food.

In short, buying fish food for your aquarium fish is an important purchase. You have many choices and it may seem impossible to make the right one. Most important, know your fish's needs. Fresh water and salt water fish not only require different aquarium setups, but different nutrients too.

Before dealing with the topic of the Fish in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. The Fish is mentioned 64 times in the Bible and six times in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the Heap more than 10 times as does the Quran. In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and more than 10 times (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about the Fish.

The Fish in the Bible:

The Lord says: 1) "I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst", 2) "I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt," 3) "I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales. I will pull you out from among your streams, with all the fish sticking to your scales", 4) "I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and not be gathered or picked up. I will give you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air" and 5) "I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea"

Isaiah 50:2

By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.

Ezekiel 26:5

Out in the sea she will become a place to spread fishnets, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD. She will become plunder for the nations,

Ezekiel 26:14

I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the LORD have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.

Ezekiel 29:4

But I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales. I will pull you out from among your streams, with all the fish sticking to your scales.

Ezekiel 29:5

I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and not be gathered or picked up. I will give you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air.

Ezekiel 38:20

The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.

Hosea 4:3

Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying.

Zephaniah 1:3

"I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea…declares the LORD.

Habakkuk 1:14 contradicts with the sciences and with 1 Corinthians 15:39

Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

Allah made lawful to you is the fished of the sea and its use for food

====

The Fish in the Quran:

When talking about the Fish, the Quran presents the following subjects:

1)	When Moses met his Teacher

2)	The Israelites and the trial of the Fish

3)	Allah made lawful to you is the fished of the sea and its use for food

4)	The Benefits of the Sea (Fish to eat, ornaments to wear and ships for travels and transportation)

When Moses met his Teacher:

18:61-66

[61] But when they reached the Junction, they forgot (about) their Fish, which took its course through the sea (straight) as in a tunnel.

[62] When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey."

[63] He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish; none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!"

[64] Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" so they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come).

[65] So they found one of Our servants, on whom We had bestowed mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our own Presence.

[66] Moses said to him: "May I follow thee, on the footing that thou teach me something of the (Higher) Truth which thou hast been taught?"

The Israelites and the trial of the Fish

Surah 7: 163

Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression.

Surah 5:96, 97

[96] Made lawful to you is the fished of the sea and its use for food, for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel; but forbidden is the pursuit of land-game, as long as ye are in the Sacred Precincts or in pilgrim garb. And fear Allah, to Whom ye shall be gathered back.

[97] Allah made the "kaaba", the Sacred House, an asylum of security for men, as also the Sacred Months, the animals for offerings, and the garlands that mark them: that ye may know that Allah hath knowledge of what is in the heavens and on earth and that Allah is well-acquainted with all things.

The Benefits of the Sea:

Fish to eat, ornaments to wear and ships for travels and transportation

Surah 16:14

It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear, and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful.

Surah 35:12

Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike, the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. Yet from each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the Bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful.

Back to the main topic of my series of articles (1- 68); this is my question to you smart readers: "Is the Quran quoted from the Bible "? And which book contradicts with sciences? And which book denies itself?

2)	The Israelites and the trial of the Fish

3)	Allah made lawful to you is the fished of the sea and its use for food

It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear, and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful.

Habakkuk 1:14

You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.

1 Corinthians 15:39

All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh; animals have another, birds another and fish another.

Ask the animals, the birds, the earth, or the fish to teach you!

Job 12: 7- 8

But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.

The Lord Jesus' Tax:

Matthew 17:27

Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea…

Genesis 1:28

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea…

Psalm 8:8

the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

Genesis 9:2

The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea…

Exodus 7:18

The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.' "

Exodus 7:21

The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

Psalm 105:29

He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die.

Numbers 11:5

We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost (for free)—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.

Numbers 11:22

Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? Would they have enough if all the fish in the sea were caught for them?"

Deuteronomy 4:18

or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below.

1 Kings 4:33

He (Solomon) also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish.

The Fish Gate is found in:

2 Chronicles 33:14, Nehemiah 3:3, Nehemiah 12:39 and Zephaniah 1:10

Nehemiah 13:16

Men from Tyre who lived in Jerusalem were bringing in fish and all kinds of merchandise…

Ecclesiastes 9:12

Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net…

Ezekiel 47:9

Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.

Ezekiel 47:10

Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Great Sea.

Amos 4:2

The Sovereign LORD has sworn by his holiness: "The time will surely come when you will be taken away with hooks, the last of you with fishhooks.

Jonah 1:17

But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 2:1

[Jonah's Prayer] From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God.

Jonah 2:10

And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Matthew 7:10

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

Matthew 12:40

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 13:47

…the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.

Matthew 13:48

When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.

Matthew 14:17, Mark 6:38, Luke 9:14, John 6:9

"We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish," they answered.

Matthew 14:19

And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish …

Matthew 15:34, Mark 8:7

…and a few small fish."

Matthew 15:36

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish,

Mark 6:41, Luke 9:16, John 6:11

Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven…. He also divided the two fish among them all.

Mark 6:43

and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish.

Luke 5:6

When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.

Luke 5:9

For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,

Luke 11:11

"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

Luke 24:42

They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

John 21:1

[Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of Fish] Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples,

John 21:3

Habakkuk 1:14

You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.

1 Corinthians 15:39

All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh; animals have another, birds another and fish another.

Ask the animals, the birds, the earth, or the fish to teach you!

Job 12: 7- 8

But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.

John 21:3

"I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them…

John 21:5

He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?" "No," they answered.

John 21:6

… they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

John 21:8

The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.

John 21:9

When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

John 21:10

Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."

John 21:11

Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.

John 21:13

Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

Allah made lawful to you is the fished of the sea and its use for food

====

By Katrinka Swenson

Kayak Kanopy, the maker of a canopy for kayaks, is a proud sponsor of the Kayak Fishing ClassicS tournament.

Melvin Hopkins couldn’t stand the Florida sun beating down upon him while bicycling. Using the knowledge his mother had taught him, he sewed together a cover for his bike.

After a discussion with another biker, the owner of Canoe Outfitters in St. Petersburg, the idea sprung to create the same cover for a canoe. In 2008, a year and a lot of research later, the canopy designed for a kayak launched.

His wife, Linda, helped him to develop the design of the cover. Made from unique parts, handcrafted by Melvin who used to be a welder, the canopy works for all widths of kayaks, and allows for coverage from behind the seat, providing protection for any bags on board. The material used is specially designed for boating, and therefore, can withstand the elements, with an aft window flap.

The coverage from the back of the kayak is exclusive to Kayak Kanopy, as all others are only flat material above the user. Whereas other canopies are nearly impossible to remove while the kayak is in the water, Kayak Kanopy designed their products to be easy to install and to dismantle – even in the water.

The canopy is a great product to aid any avid kayaker in comfort. It protects from harmful and hot sunrays, rain and other natural elements.

Fy fishing

Great news! You can now listen to our interview with Brian Chan on <a href="http://www.askaboutflyfishing.com/speakers/brian-chan/brian-chan.cfm"rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" >a biologist's point of view on fly fishing trout. We interviewed Brian this week and the show was a huge hit. A lot of listeners sent in their questions, but since the show was only about 90 minutes, Brian wasn't able to answer everything. Well, don't worry because we've scheduled a part two of the interview and we will try to fit in all your questions.

A fisheries biologist is well-versed with the ways of the trout and how and where to catch them. Brian spent his career managing recreational trout fisheries, worked on habitat protection and management plans for various lakes.

He said that trout are usually present in eutrophic lakes. These are lakes that are shallow and us and usually have intermittent or no inlets or outlets, which means that they have low flushing rates. The soils and geology around it make them nutrient-rich so that they grow insects for fish.

Brian talked about several other topics including alkaline and acidic lakes, spring and winter turnovers, thermocline, the main food sources for trout, and a lot of other stuff.

Slot Limit Radio Pairs with the Kayak Fishing ClassicS
By Katrinka Swenson, staff journalist

The Kayak Fishing ClassicS is getting a louder voice. Slot Limit Radio is now the "Official Radio Voice of the ClassicS".

Slot Limit Radio features the experienced Captain Tim Whitfield and Captain Billy Turney, and is the only weekday outdoor show on the air.

Both captains are accomplished light tackle fishermen who share what they know about the sport with anglers on any skill level. They have studied many hours to know about the best locations and to gain a great understanding of the habitats they fish in and the behavior of their prey.

They actively compete in catch-and-release tournament fishing, and support the preservation and conservation of the coastal resources they have grown to know so very well.

The ClassicS' tournament series leader, Derick Burgos, is a member of Team Slot Limit Radio. Derick is an avid fisherman with over 20 years of experience. Just like the captains, Derricks' passion drives him to share his knowledge with those around him. He is the owner of Phatfish Kayak Charters and guides people to be better fishermen.

Captain Pat Horrigan of the Kayak Fishing ClassicS will be a regular guest on the show. He will bring his knowledge of kayak fishing and equipment to the show for its own great element and angle.

You can hear the show every Thursday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm from Bushnell, Florida to South Tampa on AM 1400, or anywhere in the world while it streams online <a href="http://www.SlotLimitRadio.com"rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" >http://www.SlotLimitRadio.com

Kayak Fishing ClassicS utilizes college journalism students as staff journalist. Each article will begin with the authors' name.

There are numerous manufacturers of fishing equipment, and they produce everything you may need in the branch from lures, hooks, and rods to beginner fly fishing rods. Among the oldest companies in this business there are Heddon and Rapala. And the history of the Rapala company is told by some of the oldest items they produce such as the Rapala fishing lures. The company started the lures production some 60 years ago. Experience and tradition definitely influence the quality of the products and the until now, Rapala has developed progressively winning its name of international brand with a large distribution network and a great position in relation to its competition.

Rapala fishing lures were first produced in Finland. Fishing and farming was the occupation of the man, Lauri Rapala, who founded the company in his native country Finland. As the saying goes 'Necessity is the mother of invention', so did Rapala decide to improve his fishing productivity, by developing a better lure. In 1936 Lauri Rapala finally created a carved rough-looking lure which would produce an off-center and entice wobbling action. This initial model makes the basis for a lot of the Rapala fishing lures.

Lauri Rapala’s business had blossomed just before World War II. After the war Rapala revived his small lure making enterprise. In the very beginning, all the Rapala fishing lures were made by the founder himself and later on he involved the members of his family in the process as well. Since the very first days of the company, high emphasis was put on testing, and all the Rapala fishing lures still have to go through a rigorous quality checking process.

The international episode in the Rapala fishing lures story started after the Olympic Games of Helsinkin, 1952, when foreign visitors took some of the products abroad with them. From this moment, exports started, first toSweden and Norway and then to the USA. In 1957 the business got formalized and the Rapala and Sons / Rapala-Uistin company was established. In 1962, Life Magazine published a long article about Rapala products. Maybe the fact that the article appeared in the same magazine issue that wrote about the death of Marilyn Monroe, had something to do with the company’s growing popularity in America; however the quality of its products definitely helped.

The rest of the international market opened a lot more easily after success of Rapala products in the United States, but there appeared lots of imitators too. The company has defended itself against these copies both by taking legal actions and, more importantly, by continuing the production of consistent high quality equipment that has always made the difference between the original products and the copies.

Using live or dead bait and a stout spinning rod usually exceeding 10 feet in length is usually what comes to mind when somebody thinks about surf fishing. It is widely believed that is normal. The use of a stout spinning rod spooled with hundreds of yards of test monofilament. One of the downsides of this type of raid is that it brings on a lot of fatigue from constant casting into rolling waves. The problem is this type tackle is typically best in order to get the bait properly placed when the surface high and rolling and crashing against the beach. There are however, a number of surf situations where this is just way too much and the only thing accomplished is that the angler winds up exhausted. Fortunately, technological advances in fishing now allow surf anglers to put together a much lighter combination of fishing rod and reel. These are now shorter, easier to cast and are far less unwieldy than the traditional surf stick.

There are many areas in the Northeast that provide great opportunities for surf fishing. In these areas, tidal currents tend to not be as aggressive and the waves are typically paying. In these cases, you are not likely to find especially large fish that instead a large number of smaller size striped bass and bluefish with an occasional bruiser. This environment, you can scale down to a graphite surf fishing rod in the 7 foot to 8 foot length and combine it with a spinning reel in the 4000 size range. The best thing is that these rods will provide you more than enough length for distance casting with a 1 ounce to 3 ounce lure.

Braided fishing lines have also made distance casting far easier for the beginner fishermen. This line has made it possible to spool up to 4000 size real with monofilament backing and add an additional 200 yards of 30 pound test braid line. This is mainly because these lines are much smaller in diameter than traditional monofilament. Another advantage is the lower friction against rod guides, which helps increase the distance that you can cast. There was a word of caution for surf casters and that is the braided lines and not as abrasion resistant is monofilament. Surf casters are often found fishing in areas that have rocks and boulder fields and these can cause serious problems when using braided lines. You can mitigate these issues by attaching a long fluorocarbon leader to the braided line. This does help provide some insurance against breakage should a fish head for the rocks.

Children who are fairly new to angling will enjoy this much more and be far less frustrated than if they were trying to learn to handle a 10 or 12 foot surf rod. Not only that, but tackle of this size makes fighting smaller sized fish much more fun and sporting. If a large fish is hooked, the angler will be put into a position of fighting very hard to land him. Few things are far more exciting for the sporting angler.

There is little doubt that large surf rings will always have their place. In fact, many anglers’ fish bait with 5 or 6 ounce sinker's and they are constantly on the lookout for the largest fish in the area. For these anglers, the oversized rigs will always be the best. However, for those who just do not want to lug heavy rigs across the beach, and who prefer fish in the 5 to 20 pound range they can easily scale down, scale back, and sport up.

When you are out saltwater fishing it is important to make sure you have the right supplies. Some of the most popular brands include Shimano Reels, Penn Saltwater Reels, and Daiwa Fishing Reels.

The R2 Fish School Kit is the world's first complete pet fish training system. Using the positive reinforcement training techniques in the R2 Fish School kit you can easily teach your fish football, soccer, slalom, the limbo dance, basketball and much more. Teachers are catching on to the educational benefits of the kit and educators across the country are using the kit as an in class science project. The Kearney School of Science, Communications and Technology in San Diego, CA and science teacher Joanne "JJ" Johnson have implemented the program. They have 10 tanks setup in her classroom and students are divided into small groups of 3 or 4.

"Team members experience a wonderful sense of pride and accomplishment when they demonstrate the skill of their "fish stars" to an appreciative and often incredulous audience.

Students have learned that patience and consistency are essential to effectively train animals", says Johnson "Generating excitement in the learning process is at the heart of teaching. Fish School is tailor-made for this". The product shatters the perception of goldfish having just a 3 second memory. It shows us that there is intelligence in the animal world that we cannot see or understand. The kit is being used by educators across the country and behavioral psychologists at the university level. The R2 Fish School kit has been featured in many articles and national television.

When the product was on Good Morning America a crew was sent to film "Comet" a trained fish, "The crews jaws just dropped, a typical reaction, when they saw this little trained fish playing fetch or scoring a goal" says Russ Ronat, President of R2 Solutions the company behind the kit, "It really is amazing how easily this can be learned, the kit teaches us all to be a little more sensitive to the wonders of nature". The R2 Fish School kit has received rave product reviews and was recently awarded as "Best In Show" in the aquarium category of the 2009 Global Pet Expo. Global Pet Expo is the pet industry's largest annual trade show.

trout fishing tips] truly make a difference. Some knowledge on the specificity of the trout species would be great, as these fish have a metabolism closely related to water temperature. Their metabolism becomes higher proportionally as the temperature gets higher. If the water where they live is cold, as it is in deeper waters, they show less active and a reduced appetite.

Moreover, at the beginning of every year those interested in catching trout start to be directed to warmer and warmer waters as trout leave behind cold deep waters for environments more favorable to spawning. Also, during fall trout start to move towards colder and deeper waters where they would be better off during the cold season. Yet fishermen should not expect them to travel distances very fast. The cycles of moving from one place to another follow the seasons and last for several months.

another tip for trout fishing is that these animals are social ones. Similar sized marine fish will tend to gather in schools. Therefore, should you get lucky and get a capture, be sure that there is more trout in the area to catch as long as you do not throw the dead caught fish in the water to scare away the rest of the school.

In addition, trout fishing locations are not difficult to find. One should take into account that they are predators but still not very active ones as their favorite meal is not actually the one they have to struggle for. They would rather wait patiently and lazily for a victim to come by and unexpectedly get in their way. Sometimes, they feed on injured marine animals even though this kind of food might not be on their regular menu. Their regular menu consists of craw-fish, minnows, worms, insects, frogs and so on. For an experienced fisherman, knowledge of the eating habits and the mating peculiarities is no secret.

On the other hand, these fish become prey themselves so they need cover as well. That is why trout fishing is usually organized in those areas that provide camouflage for both fisherman and fish.

The choice of bait also influences the success of a trout fishing expedition. Bait should vary according to both the season – spring, summer, autumn or winter – and the spawning cycle of this fish species. Hence, those new to trout fishing should pay attention to more experienced anglers to learn the basic steps.

There are a wide variety of hook styles from which to choose when you're fishing. While the "J." style is still the most popular, the circle hook is gaining from more popularity. In fact, over the last 10 years more anglers are discovering that if they use it properly circle hooks increase fish survival.

The overall design of the circle hook means to fish is caught at the corner of the mouth. This occurs 95% to 100% of the time. In the event of a fish swallows the hook completely, because of the design the hook will slip through the gullet without catching on soft tissue. In fact, when used properly the hook will hit the corner of the mouth, kicks over, and the point catches and penetrates.

There is a way to ensure proper hook set if you are using the circle hook. And that is very simply not to set the hook at all. While most anglers instinctively set the hook, by overcoming that urge to rear back, it will almost always result in a failed hook set.

Circle hooks work equally as well with live or dead bait. What is important, is choosing the appropriate sized hook so that a sufficient length of the point is exposed preventing the bait from interfering with rotating action. This is necessary to allow the hook sufficient room to pull against the job of the fish.

For those who prefer visual, you can easily see how a circle hook works with a fairly simple demonstration. Take a 24 inch piece of fishing line and put it into a size 5/0 saltwater circle hook. Now, raise your hand in front of you and create a "V." with your thumb and the rest of your hand. Hold the line, dropped the hook to the Palm side of your hand, and let the line rest across the "V.". This should give you a visual of what the hook looks like inside the fish's mouth. The V., is the corner of the fish's mouth. At this point, slowly pull the line so the hook comes up your Palm towards the V. Watch the hook as it makes contact with the skin between your thumb and forefinger. What you should see is the hook starting to rotate towards the point, exposing your skin to the point. This should give you a fairly good idea of how the hook works, and why the traditional hook set does not work.

One of the benefits of circle hooks is that it's pretty hard to shake them loose from fighting fish. The closed edge does not allow the hook to back out of the job. Overall, this is a great hook design. Once you resist the urge to hook, you'll find that you save money on lost hooks that wind up in the gut a fish and you'll also be able to help sustain your fishing area by releasing fish with a strong chance of survival.

When you are out saltwater fishing it is important to make sure you have the right supplies. Some of the most popular brands include Shimano Fishing Reels, Penn Fishing Reels, and Team Daiwa Reels.

The ESCA lure is a revolutionary new concept thats transforming catch rates the world over. On contact with saltwater, the ESCA lights up, mimicking the natural lights and electrical field of prey fish, and triggering predatory fish into striking. And incredibly, it works without the need for batteries. There are two light colours & Frequencies for clear and coloured water, and the ESCA works at depths up to 600m AND for a minimum of 100 hours active fishing. There are almost endless uses for the ESCA: incorporate them into your favorite lure or bait fishing set-up, or use one of the realistic, purpose designed ESCA rubber squid or shrimp accessories)

Shrimp

As an accessory to the Esca light unit, Esca have also developed a shrimp made from robust rubber into which the Esca unit (sold separately) can be inserted. This makes it easy to swap between the various Esca light wavelength and frequency variants. The imitation shrimp is very lifelike and in combination with scented bait or real shrimp will improve your chances of getting a bite. Try using the shrimp on a hanger combined with a jig/spinner and an Esca lure light at the bottom. Esca shrimp and squid accessories are used together with Esca attractors. The Esca attractor unit fits inside the translucent rubber shrimp / squid to create a realistic lure light. (Esca attractor units are sold separately) Esca can be used in endless combinations.

Squid

Esca have developed a squid made from sturdy rubber for use as an accessory with Esca lure lights. The Esca light unit can be fitted inside the transparent squid to make a squid with a lure light. (The light unit is sold separately). The imitation squid is very lifelike and in combination scented bait or real squid etc. will improve your chances of getting a bite. Try using the squid on a hanger combined with a jig/spinner and an Esca lure light at the bottom. Esca shrimp and squid accessories are used together with Esca attractors.

If you are looking for getting into fly fishing then there is some beginner fly fishing information that you might need to find out. You should take the beginner fly fishing basics into consideration to be able to really discover the sport of fly fishing and have the most fun and success with it possible.

The Basics

One of the first things you should know if you are a fly fishing beginner is that fly fishing it really is not difficult. You might have heard from others that it must be a skilled sport, one that requires lots of talent but really more people participate in the sport for the fun of it rather than anything else.

The best thing

Of course there are hundreds of different parts that you can get for the sport of beginner fly fishing but there are only some that you really need, which are the basics. It is very important that you take the time to choose fly fishing equipment that is well balanced and usually suited to the particular fishing situation.

Depending on the water and the weather conditions you might want to choose a specific lure and fishing rod, and with beginner fly fishing equipment it's important to choose the gear with a certain type of fishing in mind.

There are two types of flies that are typically used in beginner fly fishing which are: flies that rest on the water and flies that go below the surface of the water. Poppers are especially popular, namely because they may be made to imitate several things from an injured baitfish to a frog, and they may be made out of several materials. Balsa, cork, foam, spun deer hair, these are just a number of the different varieties of material that you can have your poppers made out of.

Also take into consideration the size of the hook that you purchase, and this refers to the gap that is located between the point and the shank. For general trout fishing you'll use sizes 6 through 20 the most and for panfish sizes 10 through 16 are more commonly used.

You will probably should get yourself some fly fishing equipment such as flyline, and these flylines are classified by weight, taper, and density. Again you should just be sure you are sensitive to which fishing situation you might be getting into and this should help you to properly determine what flyline to get.

Are you brand new to the realm of fishing? Perhaps you have been fishing for some time now so you really feel that you are prepared to go to a higher level, getting into contests or even taking it from hobby to profession. If this details where you are at with this wonderful sports activity, then maybe you are aware of most of the prevalent resources and technological know-how that are being used to take your activity to a higher level.

In the following paragraphs, we will discuss the benefits to buying some kind of fishfinder and we are making use of the Garmin Fishfinder 140 as one example device for the amateur angler as it is a good value for its reasonable price.

Generally, as the name suggests, fishfinders will help you to discover the fish that you are trying to capture. These types of gear are installed on your vessel and you should definitely search for the ones that are water-proof instead of just water-resistant.

Fishfinders function through the use of sonar technologies which measures the sound waves associated with objects in terms of the system, hence allowing you to learn the rough distance from the item to your location. When it comes to these marine products, the fishfinders will let you know the relative size and distance of the fish that are inside a certain proximity to your vessel. You can see where this would help enormously in your search to obtain the perfect spot to start your fishing search as it takes much of the uncertainty from trying to assume that you might understand where the fish are located.

The actual screen is among the most significant features of the system that you will want to have a look at. You will need something with a sharp image and a crystal clear view that will help you to differentiate the various fish. The Fishfinder 140 is an excellent illustration of a good entry level product partially because of its exceptional screen with regard to the amount of money you will spend. You can certainly spend big money on higher end designs which have all the bells and whistles you could need, but for this particular unit, you would encounter an excellent value with regard to the cash invested.

You will also be looking at such things as the transducer functions which include the cone angles and the working frequencies of the transducer. In general, if you're fishing in primarily shallow water, the wider angle cone is better for shallow to moderate depths of water. For deep sea fishing, you would want to make sure that you had a far more narrow cone angle for best results.

Whether or not you choose the Garmin 140, or another manufacturer or type of fishfinder, start out with something on the cheaper end until you understand precisely what it is that you will need in your product. Definitely you are able to improve later on and getting started is the most important action with this process. With the proper tools and gear, you ought to be well on your way to winning any kind of fishing competition or getting into the ranks as well as other better established expert fishermen.

As recently featured on 'Tight Lines' on Sky Sports, this evolutionary technology has just arrived in the UK and is taking the country by storm with impressive results already being seen from Boat & Shore Sea Anglers. Esca Technology is based on the sea's own method of catching prey using lure lights as bait. Esca Technology is the only fishing product in the world that simulates natural lighting.

Esca have developed advanced Sea fishing technology for use in Esca light-emitting lures - a technology that allows our lures to generate their own power supply when in contact with seawater. The light-emitting lure is deactivated when it is no longer in contact with seawater, so Esca Technology does not need any batteries. This means that Esca Technology is environmentally friendly and is not subject to the corrosion that often forms around batteries.

The Esca Technology lure light lasts for at least 100 hours of active fishing (the time the unit spends in salt water). Esca Technology is also extremely robust and reliable. Unlike most technological electronic components, it can withstand pressures of over 500 meters in depth. Try for yourself and find out why sea anglers around the world are all talking about this product

Try different colors and frequencies to see what works best in various waters and conditions.

Esca Blue lights and Green lights are optimized to emit very specific wavelengths that mimic the predominant lure lights used by marine organisms.

Esca Blue light attractors are generally recommended for clearer waters and deeper waters because it is the wavelength that penetrates deepest and furthest.

Esca Green light attractors are generally recommended for murkier waters and shallower waters containing more particles and algae.

Try for yourself and you will see why people around the world are all talking about this product!

When you hear people talking about salmon fishing, the discussion usually gets to involve Alaska fishing trips somehow and probably for a very good reason. Alaska is a famous salmon home and the right place organize the best fishing tour ever, all to enjoy the beauty of these kings of fish. Not only is taking an Alaska fishing tour rewarding, but fishermen often acquire very solid knowledge on the kinds of salmon, their role in the river food chain, their special breeding habits and the like.

Alaska salmon fishing has often been extensively criticized that it endangers the survival of the species, given the increased demand for salmon delicacies on the market. The subject remains a hot topic some states forbid salmon fishing by law particularly during the mating season. Search on the Internet for more comprehensive data on the elements that prevent good salmon fishing or on the contrary allow such leisure activities to be practiced in the best of conditions for the fish and their habitat. Many authors, who are convinced fishing hobbyists, take a great liking in sharing their experiences with other fellow-fishermen who want to try Alaska salmon fishing, and from such sources lots of things can be learned by the less experienced in the field.

The king salmon peoples the waters of Alaska traveling a long way from marine natural habitat in search of still pure waters to lay its eggs. The king salmon shares the same routes with another silver variety, and even if there is a difference in the appearance and the size of the subspecies, they present common features. They will surely give you the excitement of a unique salmon sport fishing experience. Fishing for the salmon king can be done regardless of the season both in fresh and salt waters. Although the red salmon live in rivers and oceans alike, in some areas these fish spend all of their lives in rivers only; Besides this peculiarity, they also distinguish themselves by the smaller size.

Saltwater salmon fishing is best achieved by trolling or angling a baited line and drawing it into the water, usually at the rear of the boat. Then, as for the best times for salmon fishing, cloudy days are the most rewarding as on bright sunny days the salmon will keep to the deep holes. Anyway, reviews and popular opinion indicate Alaska as the right place to go salmon fishing, but there could be other places more convenient from the perspective of the travel distance that you may want to try.
