If you are thinking of having the best sailing holiday
in Greece, try the Cyclades group of islands. Its location extends southeast from the island of Attica to the shoreline of Asia Minor. The place has a mild weather and is mostly mountainous. Its major products include tobacco, wheat, and wine. Cyclades is famous in the country for its Bronze Age and Neolithic sculptures. In particular, the island's sculpted female idols made from Cyclades' white marbles have been an important contribution to Greece's ancient artworks.

The total land area of Cyclades is approximately 976 square miles. The origin
of the place's name is in reference to the several islands' circle formation around Delos. Hence, the name "Cyclades", which etymologically from the root word "circle" or "cycle".

Out of the numerous islands in Cyclades, only ten of them are considered as principal areas. These include Santorini (which has the city of Thira), Kithnos, Los, Serifos, Paros, Kaoa, Najxos, Malos, Ãndros, and Tanos. The other islands, especially the smaller ones, are without inhabitants
. At present, Cyclades has a population of approximately 120,000 inhabitants. Its capital is the town of Ermoupoli.

When you are planning your sailing trip in Cyclades, make sure that you enjoy all that it can offer you. Typically, the place is easy to manage. When in Cyclades, most travellers visit the islands of Little Cyclades, Santorini, Folegandros, Sifnos, and Amorgos.

Among the several ports in Cyclades, the harbours of Lavrion, Santorini, Milos, Alimos, and Mykonos are considered by most people as better as compared to others. From these, the port of Lavrion (also known as Lavriou and Laurion) is top-notch and well situated because of its convenient location. It is situated in Atttica's southeast region. Because of Lavrion's very suitable position, it has been called the "Gate of Cyclades". Other harbors that can be used when you are starting your Cyclades sailing holiday include the ports of Athens, Paros, and Syros.

Finding an appropriate sailing holiday in Greece is easy when you are in Cyclades. However, if you do not like crowded ports, stay away from the islands of Serifos and Ios.

Cyclades is famous for its unspoiled sceneries, sacred, green, volcanic, & party islands, rambled hills, golden and white sand beaches, and exotic mountains. There are only 2 cities in the area - Oia and Thira. Both of them are located in Santorini Island.

Cyclades has more to offer in your trip. It has perfect and better yacht charter areas you can choose from. If you want to completely satisfy your vacation, try to rent a scooter and travel around the islands' many attractions.

Southwest Germany is a region of outstanding beauty with numerous forests, lakes and waterfalls. Tourism is the chief industry in the Black Forest in Baden-Wurttemberg on the edge of the Rhine river. The wooded, mountainous area has several tall peaks, the tallest of which is the Feldberg, standing at 1,493m. The trees are mainly pines and firs, some of which are grown on a commercial scale. Unfortunately, the forest has been depleted due to mass logging and the effects of acid rain. The Lothar Cyclone in 1999 also did its share of damage, destroying acres of trees on the tops of mountains.

Five rivers, including the River Danube and its source, run through the Black Forest. There are paths to cater for hikers, mountain bikers and cross country skiers. The area is a haven for wildlife, including owls and eagles. Other more unusual animals are to be found due to commercial enterprise. Visitors can ride a camel at Rotfelden and ostriches are reared on a farm at St. Peter.

There is a tradition of regional cuisine in the area and some food items have become internationally famous. Black Forest Gateaux is still on the menus around the world. The original chocolate cake recipe is still adhered to in the land of its birth with ingredients including whipped cream, cherries and liqueur. Black Forest Ham is also popular at home and abroad. The smoked ham is seasoned with pepper, juniper berries, coriander, garlic and other spices.

Culture and history are celebrated in the region. This can be seen at the open air museum named Vogtsbauernhofe. It re-creates the life of 16th and 17th century farmers with replica farms. There is a long history of making timepieces in Germany and the German Clock Museum at Furtwangen traces the history of clock making and watch making. The collection includes cuckoo clocks, musical clockworks and mechanical musical instruments.

One of the most popular towns in the Black Forest is Baden-Baden. The 83m telecommunications tower, known as the Fremersberg Tower dominates the skyline. The view can be taken from the observation deck and there is an adjacent restaurant. The town contains the Festspielhaus, which is the largest opera house and concert hall in Germany. Major opera and ballet productions are staged there. The town has a fascinating history, as can be seen at the ruins of the Roman Baths and the Hohenbaden castle ruins dating back to 1102.

You are probably considering the travel industry as a home based career choice because travel is fun and always in demand. If that is the way you think, you are absolutely right! Starting your own home based travel business requires a little research.

The research is actually pretty simple, and I will tell you exactly what I did to get started; I asked a friend a few questions, and then I went to a timeshare presentation. That’s it! End of research. Now here are the details.

A friend of mine has five kids and he travels to the same beach each year with the whole family. So I asked him, "How much does your resort cost each year?" He did not mind telling me at all that it was around $3,500 for a one week stay each year, plus their travel costs, which were relatively low since they always drove.

I then told him how his family could stay at a higher quality luxury resort for $3,500 this year, and for only $300 to $800 per week each year thereafter, and in a wide variety of higher quality international resorts. That was a real eye opener for him.

Now remember, this was research, and for research reasons alone, the fact that my friend was recently unemployed was a plus, as I knew that he was not in a position to buy a membership right now. He had already booked the family vacation for this year, but was more than glad to know about my discount luxury resort membership, and that he could travel during any week of the year, or even multiple times each year at the same weekly rate.

My conclusion for this research was that I was in the right business. Since this conversation put such a big smile on my friend's face, I knew that I could help dozens of families with the luxury resort membership that I was selling from my small computer table and extra telephone line at my home office.

Here is research scenario two: I went to a timeshare presentation. I have avoided these for years, because everyone knows that the high pressure sales techniques of the timeshare sales force have turned many a No into a Yes.

True to form, those very nice timeshare sales professionals turned into pit bulls during the course of the presentation. I went through four managers on account of my unyielding No, and they even employed the good cop/bad cop technique on me.

Their last offer was substantially better than the initial offer (from $55,000 down to $14,000), but they mentioned the word ‘upgrade’ way to frequently. There was no getting over the math; timeshare ownership was a substantially inferior investment when compared to the timeshare alternative I was selling from my humble home office.

This was exceptionally valuable information for me. I have never owned a timeshare, but the condo and maintenance fees associated with ownership, compounded by blackout weeks, exchange fees and upgrade charges, really helped me to understand why so many people I know that love to travel have negative feelings toward timeshare ownership.

So there it is. Your research may be a little different, but you get the idea; ask questions and talk to people about their travel habits.

Go to places that may enhance your understanding of the travel industry, such as golf, ski, wilderness or beach resorts, or maybe even a tour of a cruise ship if that is available.

Count the costs, see what customers see, get educated, and then start your own home based travel business.

I was thinking the other day that soon, I would have to start making plans for my next vacation. Funny how the mind works though: as soon as the thought of my future holiday destination entered into my mind, I was transported forward into the future, and with images stored in some hidden recesses of my brain, this time in my future started to shape and form, a reality solid enough that for a moment, nothing else mattered. It felt like I was there, several months forward, enjoying a well earned vacation!

So there I was looking through my world atlas for a destination of my dreams flipping through the pages when I came across a map of North America and there it hit me. At a rate of one State a year, it would take 50 years to explore the US, 50 American Vacations that would not even scratch the surface of this great big land of ours. Indeed I remember visiting the Grand Canyon with my wife last year when we thought that one week of exploration through this incredibly beautiful land had only enabled us to see but a mere fraction and we had promised each other to return another year. I remember thinking back then that this magnificent Grand Canyon National Park had been carved by the Colorado River, a body of water moving down from a great distance and it probably took it millions of years to achieve its goal, some 6 million years ago. A piece of art, millions of years in the making but the greatest architect of all, nature, to bring us this ultimate American Vacation dream.

American Vacations are available in a multitude of packages and possibilities. Where you decide to go will depend on your area of interest and your lifestyle. If you are sporty kind, American National Parks are truly amongst the best in the world. Maintained to retain their original wild beauty they offer amenities and services to meet the needs of most tourists. Bring waking boots with you as there are as more trails then you would care to count, ranking from beginner to advanced depending on how fit you are. When taking a walking holiday, remember to follow all the safety recommendations that available at the Parks themselves or online. Too many people have been the unfortunate victims of their own ignorance when it comes to precautions, and you will want to be careful. Most national parks offer lodging of some sort, and for the more adventurous amongst you, camping might just be the thing for you!

So: chose a state of interest, determine the areas you want to visit, the type of vacation you enjoy and start planning. You can get there by car, train, plane, boat and once there you can either camp, stay in a hotel, a cabin or a vacation home. It doesn’t really matter how you do it, the simple fact is that this American Land of ours is truly a gift of nature and you will likely make this next vacation of yours a holiday of a life time.

American Vacations. Live the American dream!

As the snow falls down and the wind howls outside of your window, you just may be daydreaming about taking a vacation. Winter is usually thought of as the high seasons for traveling to a warm destination. While that is true, you can also find some wonderful vacations deals if you take the time to look and ask around.

Contacting a travel agent could be one of the best ways to find out about what vacation discounts are currently being offered. Your agent can also advise you on where you may want to visit and help you find something within your price range. With the new travel restrictions that have gone into effect, your travel agent is best qualified to help you figure all of the details out to ensure you have easy traveling.

However, if you enjoy finding a vacations deal on your own, you could easily have some luck with that as well. In fact, you may find better deals directly through your destination of choice if you’re willing to take that chance. Some people are not comfortable arranging their own travel itinerary because of all of the details that can be overlooked and not revealed. A lot of travelers would rather have a schedule already made and simply handed to them before they leave. With all of the discount websites that offer travel, finding a good travel deal is much simpler than it used to be. Each website offers low prices and tries to outdo one another.

If you absolutely have to find someplace warm and tropical to escape to, finding travel deals can easily be accomplished simply by doing some online research. If you definitely want a good travel deal, be willing to settle for something that may be less luxurious than what you’re hoping for. Some of the hotels that don’t get as many star ratings can be much more affordable. Of course, don’t compromise so much that you end up in a resort that isn’t safe and will create a horrible vacation. Just compromise enough that affording your vacation is a bit more feasible. If you’re looking for a skiing vacation and it is the middle of the snow season, don’t expect to find some wonderful travel deals. When it is the prime time to be participating in the seasonal events, prices won’t be as accommodating. Again, you can settle for something more affordable than what you were hoping to find.

One of the best websites for finding excellent travel deals is cheaptickets.com. On this site, the prices seem to be more reasonable than other travel sites. Not only are hotels cheaper but airfares may be more affordable as well. With a bit of luck and some research, you may find some excellent travel deals.
